The Staatsoper Unter den Linden and BMW invite you to the 17th edition of STAATSOPER FÜR ALLE on Bebelplatz with the live concert of the Staatskapelle Berlin conducted by Zubin Mehta with Bruckner's Symphony No. 7 as part of the Cultural Summer Festival Berlin 2023.

With its more than 450-year history, the Staatskapelle Berlin is one of the most traditional orchestras. Over the past three decades, Daniel Barenboim, one of the leading artists in the classical music world, has shaped the playing and sound culture of the Staatskapelle, both in opera and concert.

Zubin Mehta studied at the Vienna Academy of Music and has been music director in Los Angeles, Florence, with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra and the Bavarian State Opera. He makes guest appearances at the Vienna State Opera, Royal Opera House, Teatro alla Scala di Milano, the Salzburg Festival and is honorary conductor of the Staatskapelle Berlin.

Anton Bruckner's 7th Symphony is one of the most important works in the classical-romantic repertoire. Written around the mid-1880s, this music possesses grandeur and solemnity, intensity of sound and expressiveness. Alongside this major work of European symphonic music, Richard Wagner's overture to the opera "Rienzi," rich in theme and contour, will be heard.
